COVID 19 – A Pandemic Gives Leaders a Historic Opportunity to Review, Renew, and Re-Launch

The COVID 19 Pandemic has caused tremendous disruption to people’s lives, businesses, associations, economies, governments, churches and many institutions and teams that we all hold dear. Six months ago, no one would have foreseen the drastic and immediate changes that have caused a change in the way we work, socialize, and behave as a society. This is truly a tough time in our history, but one that we will come through together. While we will personally come through this, our businesses and associations may not resemble them as we knew them at the turn of the new year. Some organizations will not survive due to financial collapse; some may not collapse, but have radically different staffing levels and programs; some may have realized that there were new products and services that filled a niche and they will move to new levels. There will also be organizations that come through this and continue to provide the same services and products but may have found there were other ways of working as their staff were quarantined.

The recovery from COVID 19 gives all organizations a chance to review, renew and relaunch themselves. The best chance of success in this new environment will depend on how leaders take on the challenge of this new era. Light Leadership Group encourages every organization to take time to review what has happened, and then take the necessary steps to plan for the future. It will be tempting to immediately go back to work, and yet the time that is spent to plan the organization’s future will pay far greater dividends than jumping immediately back into the work at hand. This is a time for leaders to step forward to lead the organization into recover and new levels of excellence.

Light Leadership Group stands ready to assist any organization ready to advance into the future. An After Action Assessment Review (AAAR) may be warranted to document what was done during the COVID 19 response and what needs to improve in the future; or, if a new strategic plan and direction process is in order to look at where the organization was, is, and needs to go in the future, this is an opportunity that is truly once in a lifetime, and we challenge you to use it to the fullest.
